Programs

In 2007, the Galen Community Center Board entered into a partnership with the Wheeler Creek CDC and offered a summer camp for 20 youth, between the ages of 5 and 13. The camp provided meals, computer training and field trips to local attractions. The camp counselor also introduced reading and math skills, and foreign languages such as Swahili, French, and Spanish

Edgewood Community Services is providing After-School programs, a Summer Program for 2008, and other activities to implement the Board s goals improve academic levels, promoting effective communication and interpersonal relationships through values clarification training and mentoring, youth leadership development and wholesome recreational activities. The program promotes active participation of parents in the program content, implementation, and evaluation.
